CBPS – Connected Learning at Home

We aim to:

  • Maintain general and mental health and wellbeing for all students, staff and families during this time.
  • Not place families under additional stress by our expectations of student learning, while acknowledging that continuity of learning assists with student wellbeing.
  • Continue educational routines and activities for our students.
  • Provide students with educational activities across the learning areas of English, Maths, Science, HASS and Specialist Subject Areas.

The Department’s learning from home resources are also available for all families to access: Learning at Home

Routines

Keeping a routine at home is vitally important.  Creating routines that repeat day after day will help your child settle in to home learning quickly.  It is also important to make sure there is a balance between screen time learning, hands on learning and physical activity.

Here are some tips to assist you in creating a positive learning environment at home:

  • Create a learning space with your child so you have a daily routine to complete lessons and share learning experiences.
  • Encourage your child to wear their uniform each school day.
  • Create a schedule with your child that includes activities that repeat daily e.g. reading time, writing time, math time, and activities promoting physical activity, creativity and mindfulness.
  • If you, or your child, are unsure about what you should be working on at home or how to access lessons and tasks, please email your class teacher.
  • Remember, keep it simple, fun and provide opportunities for lots of movement and brain breaks. Balance is the key.
