Education is

“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it” Marian Wright Eldeman

Last Wednesday I was exceptionally proud our Interschool Athletics team and of the great relationship and exchange opportunities we have with the Japanese School in Perth at City Beach Primary School. Coming third by only four points from the school that came second, is a fabulous effort given our small size. Each of the students gave their best effort representing the school with pride. Compliments from other schools about the teams’ great attitude and sportsmanship were fabulous to receive.

As we move towards the Term 3 break I would like to address a topic that has been on the minds of many in our community: the decision regarding a move from public to private school education or another school for 2025.

While I understand that every family wants the best for their children, and education is a vital component of that journey I do want to remind you of the excellent opportunities our school provides. We are committed to fostering a nurturing and supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Our dedicated staff offers excellent teaching and learning experiences tailored to the needs of each of our students. We know each child. We have established strong relationships with parents, which value partnerships to ensure that children receive the support they need both in and out of the classroom.

Our whole school approaches to lesson design, literacy and numeracy are designed to support differentiation and success for all students. Intervention programs in literacy for students identified as requiring additional support through one-on-one sessions using Multilit are accessed three times a week to support students experiencing challenges in their learning. Our Ed Connect volunteers support small groups of students identified as benefiting from support and extension in literacy and numeracy.

Our ongoing commitment to continual improvement drives us to consistently evaluate and enhance our teaching and learning.

As we work together to provide the best possible education for our students, I encourage you to engage with us, share your thoughts, and consider the excellent education and value our school community offers. Our doors are always open for conversation, and we are here to address any concerns or questions you may have.

Thank you for your continued support of our school. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed and ‘Achieve together with Pride at City Beach Primary School. Have a fabulous restful break – see you in Term 4 which commences on Monday 7 October.
