Partnerships

‘The partnership between home and school has never been more important, fragile or tenuous. Around three decades now of the media highlighting only the problems between parents and schools – rather than the massive volume of positive interactions – will do that. As a result, we find ourselves seeking to encourage parents out of a fixed, adversarial approach to the school and back into partnership.’ Adam Voigt

As a school we work in partnership with parents and families to support each child’s individual needs whether academic, social or emotional and the safety of all students is our priority. It was reaffirming to see so many families taking up the opportunity to connect with class and specialist teachers at our Progress Interviews earlier this term. If you were unable to meet with your child’s teacher on the day, please make sure you reach out to them before the mid-year semester reports are sent home in the last week of this term. Semester One reports for our Pre-primary to Year 6 students will contain:

  • Grade allocations or descriptors for all subject/learning areas
  • An overall comment that reflects the student’s attitude, behaviour and effort toward their learning and peers and supports their grade allocation and progress in mathematics and English.
  • No comments for individual learning areas

Please remember that when you receive your child’s report you are able to request meeting to discuss any queries or questions you may have with their class or specialist teacher. Reports will be sent out on Monday 30 June in the last week of school this term.

I loved being a part of the P&C Camp Out last Saturday night, seeing our school community work together to create a fabulous event for families to get together and share the unique sense of belonging that captures the heart of our school community.  A huge thank you to the P&C and parents from Room 6 & 7 who worked tirelessly to organise, coordinate, advertise, create, and celebrate at the Camp Out, to make it such a huge success.

Last Friday 23 May was the day set aside across the state to celebrate to fabulous volunteers that make up our P&C Executive and supporters. They are the big heart of our great school who focus on strengthening the fantastic outcomes our kids are able to achieve through their fundraising and volunteering efforts – thank you for your incredible support of our school.

During each school week when I’m out in the quadrangle, on the oval, at assembly, in classrooms, on excursions and at carnivals, amongst the joy of learning, chatter and playing in each of these spaces I feel a strong sense of belonging. I also see a symbol of unity and inclusivity: our school uniform. It’s a visual reminder and expression of community and belonging.

Over the last few weeks, we have focused on the school uniform and wearing it with pride. When students wear the school uniform as outlined in our Dress Code  they embody the school’s values and show their connection with the school and wider community. Please help us by ensuring your children wear the school uniform and follow the dress code. Encourage them to save fashion trends the weekend or at special events.

We appreciate your efforts and support of our school as together we create:

A CONNECTED CULTURE OF LEARNING, EXCELLENCE AND SUCCESS WHERE EVERYONE BELONGS AND CAN THRIVE

Be Safe Be Kind Be Fair
