Positive Classroom Environments

‘Positive classroom environments don’t just happen, teachers create them.’
‘’The strength of our student relationships makes the difference in translating our passion for teaching into their passion for learning.’  Beth Morrow

For every teacher at City Beach Primary School creating a positive classroom climate is a proactive and intentional effort. We don’t leave things to chance. Positive relationships, connected practice and collaborative planning structures are embedded across our school to target excellence in student wellbeing, engagement, progress, achievement and success.

As a staff we carefully consider many factors when creating class structures for the following school year. The needs of each child, the characteristics of each cohort, class size recommendations and resourcing limitations are some of the factors that impact on our decisions. Our focus continues to be on student engagement and success by maximising opportunities for teacher collaboration, creating cohesive learning environments and embedding consistent teaching approaches across the school.

This year 2025 Information Sessions will be offered for parents to gain insight into school and class structures, whole school approaches and specialist areas for 2025. Our strategic direction and what this means for your child in 2025 at City Beach Primary School, will also be shared.

The second half of the meeting will an opportunity to be a part of focus group sessions for parents to share feedback about what worked well in 2024 and even better if… your feedback is valued and informs our planning.
Information sessions are scheduled for 8:30am in the library on:

  • Wednesday 20 November for families with children in and Year 4 to Year 6; and
  • Thursday 21 November for families with students in Kindergarten to Year 3

If you are unable to attend these meetings a summary of discussion points will be made available. Please register your attendance via the QR below, which will also be available around the school.

Ultimately our goal is to create cohesive classrooms that are safe, kind and fair. I am grateful that our teachers and families are committed to positive partnerships focussed on the well-being and academic success of every student at City Beach Primary School.
